In July, I travelled to Rhodes for a week with my family and I can safely say now that I am a big fan of Greece. It’s been a lovely stay with lots of good food, visiting beautiful villages and getting some relaxation from my last months of uni stress.

If you should ever come to Rhodes and need some help I showed you the hotel I stayed in, the beach in Kiotari and some villages you must see when you are there.

The Hotel–  We stayed at the Princess Andriana Resort & Spa which is a five-star hotel and located in Kiotari. If you ever decide to stay at Princess Andriana you have to be aware that the transfer will take you around 70 minutes, but I must say it was totally worth it though. The place looks so luxurious and the staff was very nice and kind. The food was literally a dream! Every few days there was a buffet topic on what kind of food they would cook, such as French or Greek food. You never ate anything twice, because they had so many different food options on the buffet every day. Nevertheless, I would not recommend coming in July or August, because first of all it’s very hot and it’s super busy and crowded. So rather come earlier or a bit later.

The Beach– The beach was right at the hotel and was easily reached by going through an underpass. It is definitely not a white sanded Carribean beach, but the stones weren’t disturbing at all. I actually expected them to hurt a bit; however, it was all fine. The closer you got to the water the stones got smaller, and all around the little section we had our loungers, the beach got more sandy. We also had a beach bar very close to the actual beach and could get ourselves any kind of drinks or food which was very convenient. If you have the time I recommend visiting more beaches in Rhodes, because the other ones had much bluer water.

One little side note: Since I had to get up at 6 am to show you everything properly without any people in it, I got to see this beautiful sunrise which I didn’t expect, but it was stunning. Just once get up very early to see the sunrise, because they are breathtaking in Greece.

Villages– There are a lot of small villages in Rhodes and one comes after another so definitely don’t insist on driving around a lot and stop by at any location you like. Only if you really go for a ride you can get those Greek vibes that everyone shows you in their Instagram pictures. Rhodes is very bleak and stony, but also has got these pretty white houses and those vibrant-coloured flowers. What you surely should see are Lardos and Lindos.

Rhodes City– We did a little road trip to Rhodes city in the evening and didn’t expect it to be this spectacular. It is a city full of lights, life and taverns. There is a harbour, an old castle and lots of small and pretty side streets. You are able to shop until midnight and I loved the fashion there much more than in Kassel. Also, you get to see many old buildings which are beautiful to look at. Just stroll around the city and it will be worth a try eating in some of the taverns there with good Greek wine and tzatziki. Rhodes city is such an incredible place to come to and it made me love Greece even more, so don’t miss it!
